From the miracle of their winter birth to spring picnics filled with monarch butterflies and a magical encounter with Isadore Thistledown, the Garden Keeper, the book weaves together warmth, wonder, and gentle life lessons.

Ruggerio writes from lived experience. Her own home is filled with Sadie and her "sunshine pups," alongside a garden alive with butterflies, hummingbirds, and (she hints) perhaps a few tiny figures with pointed hats. "They showed me that the purest happiness lives in the smallest moments," she writes in the book's dedication.

When not dreaming up adventures, Ruggerio tends her garden, plants flowers "overflowing with love," and spends time with her family. The Magical Adventures of the Sunshine Puppies is her first book, but she confirms it will not be her last.
