Mount to Coast Enters the Trail Category with Award-Winning T1

United States, 14th Jun 2025, - Mount to Coast, the first performance shoe brand to specialize in ultrarunning and long-distance pursuits, enters the trail running category with the debut of its first trail shoe: the T1. Engineered in Mount to Coast’s cutting-edge biomechanics lab and refined by Mount to Coast’s professional ultrarunning athlete team, the T1 is thoughtfully designed to support the needs of endurance runners on technical terrain.
 

A lightweight shoe designed for complex trails, the T1 features the brand’s signature midsole base material, LightCELL, and a Vibram™ Lightbase sole to reduce weight by 30%. The upper, constructed of DuPont’s high-performance Kevlar fabric for premium durability, boasts the brand’s TUNEDFIT Dual-lacing System with a water-repellant anti-siphon knit tongue – a combination which won an ISPO award.

The T1 includes Vibram’s Megagrip with 4mm outsole shark tooth lugs to provide superior grip on any terrain. The shoe, developed with long-distance pursuits in mind, accommodates for foot splay and swelling with a wide toe box and modest stack heights (heel 36 mm, forefoot 32mm, 4 mm drop).

“The T1 is our tribute and gift to the trail running community,” said Yeti Zhang, co-founder and head of product at Mount to Coast. “We’ve listened to our community and their love for our R1 model. We’ve translated the spirit of our flagship shoe by using much of the same cutting-edge technologies, adapted it to the needs of trail runners and, ultimately, created a trail shoe capable of ultra distances across rugged and diverse terrain.”

Mount to Coast’s T1 was extensively tested by the brand's athletes, who wore prototypes for both training and competition. Mount to Coast athlete Cole Crosby won Badwater Cape Fear and placed third at Sedona Canyons 125 in the T1’s. The go-to-market version will make its official race debut with Mount to Coast athlete Manu Vilaseca at the Tahoe 200 in June.

The T1 (9 oz/255 g) joins Mount to Coasts road-focused models – R1, S1, and P1 – and will be available on mounttocoast.com and select run-speciality retailers today at a competitive price point of $180.
